Mr. Beazley and Jen Miller, Director of Planned Giving, feeling the unveiled plaque in the children's garden.

Mr. Beazley, a dear friend of the Lighthouse and President's Council member who has generously supported the Birth to Three Program, was recently recognized during a dedication ceremony in the children's garden. A plaque was unveiled for a portion of the garden named in honor of his grandson.

The Lighthouse's reputation as an international resource for blindness and disability-related issues was further enhanced on August 18 when a group of 20 policymakers, legislators and rehabilitation professionals from Taiwan came for a tour.

Dr. Janet Szlyk, professor and director of the Low Vision Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), has been named the new Executive Director of The Chicago Lighthouse.
